What would be the best way to start a career in real estate?

career
wigglesquiggle asked:

I’m looking to start a career in real estate, but I’m not sure where I should start. My main interests are buying and selling houses/condo’s and fixing them up/decorating. I love looking at houses and seeing the potential in them and making them comfortable and liveable. So where should I start? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get your real estate license, learn the laws associated with RE in your area and start representing buyers and sellers. You will learn everything you need to know about RE this way and it will pay you an income to be able to buy and sell properties. Also, you will become highly educated on what price ranges to focus on without making a bad buying decision early on. Make some income, buy and fix up a home, make some more income! Good Luck!

The best thing is to do is earn your own real estate license at first then distribute your business card to all the people in your locality. You can easily make arrangements for getting the finance from leading financial providers.

Visit with anyone you know that is a realtor, then interview with offices, find out what you want to specialize in, most people start with residential resales, but there is also commercial, management, new home sales, and rental market. You will need a license for any of theses activities.
There are reputable real estate schools in all large cities, and they will help you study and pass the licensing exam. All this should take 3 to 6 months. Cost should be under $500. Also read newspapers on economic issues, Wall Street Journal would be a good investment.

Be prepared to go 6-12 months with no income. Also, you will need some start up money for marketing.
