What jobs are there in a hospital that a teenager can do?
<3 asked:
Not a doctor, a nurse, or anything that requires a degree. I’m starting college in a couple of weeks and people have told me to get jobs at a hospital. I don’t have any “medical experience” so I was wondering what other jobs there are that a high school graduate can do.

Most decent paying jobs in a hospital will require a degree of some sort. However, I work at a hospital and work in the IT dept. There are some people here who don’t have degrees. So, you need to check out the job listings on a hospital’s website. Search by business or administration, these are the non-medical depts of a hospital. TwinkaTee

Mostly, filing and paperwork. You may also be asked to fill out referrals, verify copay with insurance companies, meet with the pharmaceutical representatives, and mostly medical billing. However, this mostly depends on the number of people that are working at the hospital. You should be familiar with some terms, such as ultracentrifuge, and be able to use a blood pressure machine and a weight scale. RubiksCubes

You could work in the dietary department, or as a file clerk, you could also work as a unit clerk. I’m not sure what you mean by strict- you can’t call in sick or be more that 7 minutes late a lot. Where I work you can be late more than 7 minutes or call in sick 10 times during your employment before you get fired. I think that is a little too relaxed. crazy!!
