What job industry most likely does not conduct background checks?

I have a friend who has a misdemeanor and is simply a great person who made a mistake. He’s having a hard time finding a job and doesn’t want to waste his time not knowing what companies do background checks. Please help him! THANK YOU!
Oh and I forgot to mention he graduated with a business degree and all his working experience is in retail, sales and management.

auto repair either mechanical or paint & body i personally have done both & prefer paint/body work i have found if your good your basically your own boss & youd never believe the $ you can make. how does 6000.00$ for 1 very custom paint job sound?
