What is the most interesting career you can think of that use a second language?

career
formerpineapple asked:

What I mean is - careers where learning a language is important in the career. For instance (these are really boring and odvious examples!):
- tour guide
- translator

The most interesting and original one will get best answer!

You could be a linguist, work for the united nations and translate stuff, interpret for people, work in the media, be a journalist, be a correspondant abroad, be someone who subtitles foreign movies, or do what i want to do which is to go to spain and teach english abroad (i’m learning spanish at the moment, but you can go to the place which speaks your second language)

When it comes to originality — I knew a bilingual police officer who was assigned to airport duty. I think he had an interesting time.

I think being an interpreter is pretty neat. You can work big government jobs, or for the UN, or World Health Organization, and it’s a job that gets you around the world.

It may not be an original idea, but I think it’s interesting.
