What is the best way to start a legal career after law school?

I am a law student eagerly anticipating graduation in May 07. I am excited about starting a legal career. I would love to hear from different people on how they began their legal career for I am in dire need of direction. I am interested in personal injury, real estate, and criminal law. Look for a job with one of the bigger legal firms. Get the experience and exposure you need in the field of your interest before you start your own firm.
