You can have a salary of over $100 million a year if you are the president of HP.

All you have to do is sit around, eat fancy meals with the press, and blame your managers for everything. Then they have to pay you another $50 Million to resign, with a $5 million a year pension for life.

Then, you go on the speaking circuit, telling people about your failure and blaming everyone in the companies you destroyed, including the shareholders; for that you get $100,000 a speech, plus 1st class airfare and hotel to the event.

Carly Fiorina did it, why not you? And I’d bet you look way better than she ever could.

If you go for the money, you will be miserable.

Nothing in the field pays poorly.

The most in demand right now is IT security and there are always jobs for ethical hackers.

My advice to you is to combine your interest in computers with another interest you have to narrow down the field.

If you like gaming, you may want to be a video game programmer. If you like robotics, you could get into Artificial Intelligence programming. You could be an applications developer, general IT help, a business analyst….

Again, don’t go just for the money.

What ends up happening in the field is that there is one technology or two that gets ‘hot’ and everyone goes into that one and drives the salaries down. I mention this because if you go into a field that you hate but figure the money will make you happy, you may find yourself working at a job you hate for far less than you thought you would.
