What education is recommended for a career in weapons design ?
Cow asked:
For a long time now I have been extremely interested in working for the defense industry. I have an attraction into the creating, research, development, and designing of weapons such as tanks, aircraft, hand-carried weapons, etc. I am currently looking into attaining a degree in mechanical engineering, but not quite sure if this is a wise choice for the type of career I am looking to chase. Any recommendations or advice on this ?

A degree in mechanical engineering is a good start, however the weapons of the future will almost certainly be “Beam” weapons, lasers, focused gamma rays, etc., and therefore electronic in their design. Follow up you’re BSEE with a masters in electronic engineering and you’re future is assured.
