What combat oriented jobs are available for the enlisted in the Navy?
Rave?now! asked:
It seems to me that special operations is the only job directly in combat for the Navy enlisted members. The other jobs seem to be more mundane tasks. Not trying to offend anyone I am just genuinely curious.

I was a radioman who sent the ATO Air Tasking Orders to the Tommy’s and Hornets with there bomb runs. Hardly mundane. Extremely fun. Especially when you walk out to the deck and smell the sulfur. mmmmmmmm. I miss those days Tuskdaddy2

no not just the seals are combat. You also have corpsman with a marine unit because marines dont have medics. the navy construction(seebee) can see combat. They are called the fighting seebees for a reason. Enforcer of Oblivion

First and foremost it would be the Navy Seals, then the Seabees. Contrary to the above answer, the Seabees DO NOT receive the same training. scotty

SEALs, SWCC, EOD, Seabees, corpsmen (who decide to be marine medics), aircrew can see some action, but not too likely. Ekrul

Brock, Seabee’s do not get SEAL training and please capitalize SEAL correctly. It’s not Seal or seal, it’s SEAL. It is a warfare rating, like SCW (Seabee Combat Warfare).
To answer the question. The main combat oriented ratings are SEAL, SWCC, EOD, Seabee’s, and FMF Corpsmen. Inquire further at your nearest recruiting station.
Ratings: SO,SB,EOD,CM,EO,SW,BU,EA,UT,CE,HM(FMF,8404)
Despite what they think, MA’s are not high speed Bobbi-Lyn C

Corpsman and SEEBEES can be combat related depending on if you go FMF. Most other rates are not. Though you can volunteer to go IA (Individual Augmentee) and you can be assigned with a combat support group. John H
