What are the jobs that offers the chance to travel around the world?
Twilight glories asked:
Besides being a pilot, an air hostess or a journalist what are the other jobs that provides us a chance to travel around the world and allows you to spend some time in each country? What are the qualifications required for such a job?

An obvious one you’ve missed off the list is a job in the Armed Forces.
Aside from that, and a bit more unusual, is the job of Tea Buyer. I imagine there may be similar jobs in other industries, coffee, rice etc, but I know that Tea buyers have to travel around the world to select and buy teas.
It takes many years to train as a tea buyer or tea taster - 5 years according to Twinings, between 5 and 7 according to Tetley Harris. You need a good sense of smell and taste, and I guess you need to like tea (you could be sampling up to 500 teas a day).
Tetley actually run a graduate training scheme in the UK, which clearly states that the role will involve ‘international travel’. The advert says you need a good 2:1 honours degree and all round academic achievement, including 3 A Levels and Maths and English GCSEs at grade C or above. Whitescar

Another one you might consider is working on a cruise ship - there are several books out about people and their experiences working on a cruise ship - and it sounds like great fun! I know I enjoy my one week at a time on them! addygirl216@sbcglobal.net

work in a commercial vessel, you can go to many parts of the world where certain places even commercial pilots dont get the chance to go. the only drawback is that you have to spend weeks in the open sea which not everybody are willing to accept. Golden Reindeer
