What are some career opportunities available with a Communications Degree?

I am going to school majoring in communications. I know that there are several different paths I could go down, being that a communications degree is so broad. So I was just wondering what suggestions people might have? I also like journalism but haven’t really declared it as my minor or anything, I don’t really know if it would help with a communications major.

Any suggestions of successful career paths? I also live in Michigan and was considering applying in cities out of state as well, does anybody know of any cities that would be good for jobs within communications?

the world is your oyster with a communications degree - you can get the point across. i did a comm masters. look back across you years of study and focus on the elements you enjoyed the most. use these to build upon to find either a job or further study. if you are really interested in something you will enoy your job better and satisfaction in what you do is half the battle to success. i have taught literacy, been a placement officer and now i am a careers adviser. the choice is endless. journalism would be a great outlet for you, but please, make sure you can write, not just talk!!!
