What are jobs in the financial industry that a person in college trying to finish a degree can do?

You could be a bank teller, in the financial industry they always need one, and you need to do that first unless you are overly qualified. I”m in high school and am a bank teller. karate_queen57

You can be a bank teller to get your foot in the door and then once you graduate with your degree you can apply for jobs in other departments and have a better chance because you’ll have already established yourself with the company. Not sure where you live but I’m in the U.S. in Texas and I work for a bank right now (at work now actually lol) as a teller. It pays about 19K (for TX that’s a pretty low salary) starting out but you don’t have to have any kind of school and just have to be at least 18. K

In this economy….you take any job you can get.
In my area, unemployment is pretty high. Over all, there have been a lot of lay offs in the financial services industry. Financial professionals….MBA’s ….college grads are competing to get jobs working as a clerk in a retail store. Recently, a friend of mine who was laid off applied for a part time job as a clerk in a pharmacy….she was one of over 200 applications. And she has a college degree.
So…apply for jobs in the financial sector. But know…you’re competing against experienced financial professionals and college grads. So don’t limit yourself to just that. You apply for every job you can find and take what ever you can get and be happy for it.

Go to career services and look for job posts, especially those online. They often have internships or part time jobs. Often, financial organizations and any organizations advertise there. You can get a good job, get your foot in the door, and when you graduate, have a job. Barricade
