Raen asked: I am a student who is majoring Anthropology and I would like some advice. I am looking for a part-time job, but I want something that would look good on my application when I am ready to apply for a masters program. Any advice about what types of jobs would look good would be greatly appreciated.

Shane asked: I have a regular full time job that requires working much of the afternoons and evenings as well as weekends. However, my days off change as conditions at my work warrants it. I am thinking about a part-time job that allows me to work with flexible schedule that may change monthly, but occasionally less than that on a short notice.
Can you suggest some jobs that I can look into? I am a full time computer technician if that helps any. Home based opportunities comes to mind, but I am afraid that there are more fakes than legitimate ones.
Thanks for reading!

L R asked: I currently have a full-time job making about $24,000/year. I am starting a 2nd job, part-time, making about $5,000/year. I claim 1 exemption at my full-time job, and usually get a refund of $300-$400 from the IRS. Should I claim 0 exemptions at the part-time job to avoid owing taxes at the end of the year? Or will I likely be safe claiming 1 exemption?
I can’t afford to seek the advice of a tax professional; hence, the reason I’m getting a 2nd job.

Peggatha asked: I go to a school that’s not heavily recruited. But I’m still pulling a 3.9 GPA in ME. I want a hard job in engineering that will let me travel and make me think! For the time being I’d love to just get experience as an intern or at a part time job. Shoot - I’d even slow down my degree progress if I could land an interesting full time position. But I can’t seem to find them - internships, part time, or full-time jobs. Everyone wants someone who has five or more years of experience.
Are you an engineer? Do you recruit them? What do you suggest? Thank you!

John Doe asked:
I want to find a part-time job ASAP. The thought occurred to me that either of the above mentioned jobs might be available to someone like me, a 48 year old man who has a perfectly clean driving record and excellent references. Has anyone here done either job and care to comment? Also, what is the best way to apply for such jobs? BTW, I live in the Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD area if that makes any difference.
