I decided to make a career change but I am having difficulties landing a job interview. I had a fair amount of responses with my resume in the previous industry (because of the job experiences).

Any strategies to market ourselves when doing a career change so we can at least land a decent job interview?

This may sound like a silly question but I have a job interview at a bank as essentially a banker service rep…so basically a call center lol. Anyway they already have my resume and application so all I’m bringing to the interview is 1 sheet of professional references and 1 sheet with a letter recommendation for a previous job.

A briefcase would definitely be overdoing it but do I need a folder of some sort or just carry the papers as is?

How do you schedule a job interview during the week when you already have a job during business hours?

They say it’s best to look for a job while you’re still employed. Well most employers only interview during business hours so how are you supposed to get time off in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day to go to a job interview? And what if you have multiple interviews during the week? What are you supposed to tell your employer and/or future employer about scheduling?

My first job out of college was really stressfull and I was underpaid. I quit after 3 months and am about to go on a job interview. I was not working for 3 weeks before getting this interview. How do I explain the switch without focusing on negative aspects of my old job and without making myself appear to break under pressure. I have already mentioned that I worked there on my resume.
