Sometimes you just have to create your own job. Think of things that you do well and then think of a way to turn that into something that people are willing to pay for.

My first home business I created was giving guitar lessons.

With the things I learned from starting my own business, I was able to eventually create a situation where I was getting paid over the internet while I was sleeping.

Send me a message and I will help you come up with some ideas. Snowdog

A town with not many jobs available... It sounds like your options are limited...
Then you need to start thinking differently...
The job won't come to you, you need to find it. Talk to your parents and their friends, your neighbors and local business people. Say that you are looking for a job to earn money for college. Put the word out there, advertise yourself as a prospective employee. Make up a flyer and hand it to people, pass them around your neighborhood. Say exactly what you are looking for ... that you are willing to work hard.

Offer to do whatever work it is you want to do, such as :

Computer work, Data Input, Babysit, Mow Lawns, Pull Weeds, Clean Garages, Organize Cupboards, File Papers, Wash Cars, Walk Dogs, whatever...

Say on the flyer you are a High School Graduate looking to earn money to go to college, and be sure to say you are available to work on Saturdays too. cyndee

Try a temp agency. Then you may get one job for the summer or you may get to try out a few jobs.

The poster above gave you some good options as well. The key is that YOU don't give up. If you have the drive to do something, you will do it.

Also - have you tried student loans, scholarships, financial aid for your college expenses? Micki

Try theme parks, doctors offices, dentist offices, and everything NOT effected by the economy. Or start your own business. nkapusta87
