Howver, if this is a long term career consider this - how many airline companies have gone into bankruptcy or out of business? I mean, JetBlue is still doing good, but none of their pilots have reached retirement age yet. I’ll bet it’s amazing and fun.

I think it is a very good career speciously a helicopter pilot because that is mainly how the fires in mountains are put out. they need to be there so the mountain/wild land does not burn down. so to answer your question, yes the occupation of aviation is important.
