I've heard the FAA has been toying with changing the age limit to 65 for pilot retirement. I think it is a matter of time before it becomes law. Who knows what will happen by the time you are 65? maybe they'll change the age to 110? :-)

There isn't really an age limit for pilots as long as they are capable of flying proficiently. Good luck. I'm 16 and am saving for my PPL so I can get it at 17 and apply for a job at an airline at the age of 19 after I leave college

I started my aviation career at 38! So, 28 is certainly not too old!! If you plan to fly commercial airlines, my guess is 40 would be too old to start a career. But it's never too old to start flying for fun! I know of someone who is in her 60s and is working on her private pilot's license!! Keep flying and working hard!

Not at all. Just be weary that it takes a while to make it to the top. If you don't mind flyin turboprops and RJs till your 40ish then go for it. Ive seen alot of people that start late-ish so I would not imagine it would be too much of a problem.

All the best

Not at all.
If you're truly dedicated, you can make it to a major airline. The complicating factors are your personal life during the preparation, and your lifestyle. In my new hire class there was a gal of 26 years. That's eight years from high school to a major. Sure she went to Embery Riddle and had done an internship, but she's on the seniority list, and will be for many years to come. Get your multi rating, fly checks if need be, join a regional, and in a few years you will have thousand of flight hours.

Best of luck.
