I want to build a career as an insurance underwriter, where do i start?

Easiest thing for you to do is to send your CV into local insurance companies ( AXA,First Direct etc).State in your letter that you are interested in a career in insurance,and of any possible vacancies they may have.

These people are highly trained in risks. You would need a degree in what I am not sure. Phone one of the companies and ask what they require.

My ex husband is an underwriter.Sorry i can’t ask him what his exact qualifications he has as i don’t want to talk to him.
However, i do know he doesn’t have a degree,he only had a couple of O ‘ Levels when he started out.
He started out 18 years ago practically as the tea boy at Royal & Sun Alliance.He’s now senior management,he’s done a lot of training courses with them ( He now works for AXA),and has studied for more qualifications throughout his career.
