How to get an animating job when fresh out of college?
YouKnowIt asked:
My boyfriend just graduated from college with an associates degree in Animating. We’ve been looking online for jobs, and he’s posted his resume on three different sites. But most of the jobs say they’d like 3-5 years of experience. How is he suppose to find a job when no one will hire him so he could gain some experience? He graduated at the top of his class and is very creative. Any advice?

Go back to his instructors and if they are any good (i.e. with professional experience) they should be able to connect him with places that would hire with their recommendation. If that doesn’t pan out - at least ask how to make the best presentation - then having DVD of examples of the animation or posting them on YouTube and referencing them while approaching firms that use animation techniques like he uses.
