How do you get a career working with and saving wild animals?
misspuppychow asked:
I love animals, especially wild animals such as lions, tigers, leopards, etc. I took a trip to Africa and got to hang out with lions, which was amazing. I also love science (but not so much research - I prefer a more hands on approach). How could I get a career working with wild animals, helping them, and saving them? I thought about vet school, but there are so few schools with such competitive admissions and such a long process that I don’t think it is for me. Any other ideas?

If you want to work with wild animals but don’t want the research side of it, I would suggest some sort of zoo work or working at an animal clinic or rescue shelter.
To really get a feel for what is involved in this type of work, you should try to find volunteer or intern positions at your local zoo/clinic/shelter.
Also, I don’t know where in the US you live but there are places out there for people like you!
