how do i start a vocalist career in guitar hero 4 without a regular PS2 controller?

Sorry, but not that I know of. My PS3 always yells at me when I plug in the mic and the controller has gone into standby. You can buy a regular controller for pretty cheap used at Game Stop. I love my PS2! I play it all the time! Rock Band and GH’s 2 and 3! Whoo old school.
