You do not state what field of law enforcement you are in.
Bottom line is be knowledgeable of all laws, courteous with those you come in contact with. Always be early at work, keep yourself in good physical condition, have good writing skills, been clean in person, have a clean neat uniform, and never forget to keep your immediate supervisor satisfied with your performance.
Aspire to either attend the three month FBI or the Northwestern University management course.
