I’ve worked in Insurance sales and realized this is not for me. I want to know what the best career change would be for someone with an Insurance background as well as a customer service background. I need something with salary cause i’m tired of comission and not having benifits. Any Suggestions?

Information guru asked:
Are the two positions the same thing? Or are the positions different? Can anyone tell me anything about a career in selling medical supplies? I have an interview later this week for an outside sales rep postion for a Medical Supply company. The compensation package looks lucrative. If you have experience in this field, I want to hear from you!
More information…I have an interview for a medical supply sales job. I dont have an interview for Pharmaceutical sales job. How much do Medical Supply sales reps make? Do they work long hours?

I might have to start job searching in a couple of months due to a potential layoff. I haven’t been in the job market for several years, and I know there are a ton of new job search websites out there since then. Used to be that Monster was pretty much it! I have a bachelor’s and about 20 years experience in the marketing/advertising field. I would appreciate recommendations for professional sites that offer more than just a bunch of entry-level stuff and bogus sales jobs.

I dream of having a job in the music or movie industry. I am wondering what jobs involve coming up with movie or cd covers. Also what education I would need for that. I would also like to know what jobs involve picking songs out for movie soundtracks. Please do not say a composer, because not all movies use composers. For instance, Garden State used separate artists’ music. Also what other jobs are there besides a model, actor, singer, writer, director, or producer?

I was told by my supervisor today that I should not use direct straightforward communication, but have to “play” by other agencies’ games. I need a new career. One where people are honest, upfront and no games going on! By the way, I cannot do math too well so accounting is out.

Gary J asked: I have been in telecom sales and management for 25 years. Reduction in force requries me to look for another job.
I have used the same resume with updates, same format for the last 6 years. Headhunters and potential employers say that my resume looks good but I am not getting results after 6 weeks. A resume’ professional service critiqued and pointed out some viable potential improvements. They want to redo my resume’ for $600. Seems pricey. Thoughts?
If you are willing to help me revise my resume’ please let me know how to contact you.
Thanks
G
