Captain Neal asked: What jobs in the aviation field would you recommend to do to help pay for flight training? I’d like to get a job while getting flight lessons but I’d like to work at an airport where I can get experience while still getting my licenses and ratings. Thanks in advance.

Jimmy Q asked: Right now i am a senior in high school with a 3.93 gpa and 1730 sat score but no extracurricular activities. If i could get into a UC, what career should I do?
Should I become a pilot or pursue a different career?
How much do commerial airline pilots usually make at entry levels?
Do pilots have time to be with their families?
Would going to a 4 year college like Embry Riddle be better to become a pilot or going to learn to fly in some private school/place?
Thanks for the help

brisbaneflyer asked: Hello! Is 28 too old to commence a career in aviation? I began flying trying 18 months ago, part-time, after completing a degree and working full-time, and expect to complete a PPL mid-year.
I have wanted to fly professionally since I was 15.
I would like to commence training toward a CPL / MECIR, mid-year, full-time. However, I am unsure if this will prove fruitful due to my age. How old is too old to commence a career in aviation?
With Regards.

I have heard radio commercials saying that there is a need for helicopter pilots. I have worked around helicopter for several years (wildland firefighting) and have a basic understanding of them. I would like to know about the pros and cons of such a career.

maggie asked: Hi,
I am a freshman at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and major in air traffic control. I am worried that if i screw up at my job in the future, I will have no way to get another job. So I am thinking to minor in Aviation Safety and maybe meterology too. I am concernced about whether a minor in Aviation Safety can get me a job at FAA if I really screw up as an air traffic controller. Thanks a lot!

Or would I need to start on the flightline?

The security people that make you take off your shoes, and that scan you to see if you have any weapons. I looks like an easy job just sitting their looking at a screen for weapons. A job like that in North Carolina

I imagine being a commercial pilot is a fun job. Obviously not. I’ve seen several people on this page just complaning about being pilots and urging pilot hopefuls to stay away from the career field. It’s apparently not the best money in the world. I heard it’s one of the most stressful jobs. And If you pilots hate your jobs so much (at least thats the vibe I’m getting but correct me if I’m wrong) why did you decide to be pilots?
