Aircraft pilot career for high school student?

career
Jimmy Q asked:

Right now i am a senior in high school with a 3.93 gpa and 1730 sat score but no extracurricular activities. If i could get into a UC, what career should I do?

Should I become a pilot or pursue a different career?
How much do commerial airline pilots usually make at entry levels?
Do pilots have time to be with their families?
Would going to a 4 year college like Embry Riddle be better to become a pilot or going to learn to fly in some private school/place?

Thanks for the help

My brother in law is a commercial pilot, he has no family time. So he has no serious girlfriend or wife or children and he is nearly 40. But he loves flying, so its worth it for him.

He got his pilots license on his own and got a degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Texas.

Jimmy, please don’t study for a career for the money do it because you will love what you are doing. If you make lots of money but are unhappy what good will it do you? Do what you feel you will love doing! But I do wish you the best of luck……..the benefits of flying are phenominal!
