I want to know how long the average law enforcement or police career is. Not average retirement age or how long you work before you retire. But how long the average individual is in law enforcement before he leaves, since many leave before retirement age.
Thanks for your help.

I would love to hear from different people on how they began their legal career for I am in dire need of direction. I am interested in personal injury, real estate, and criminal law. Eden asked: I love to write, but i would hate to be stuck in a job writing a teen magazine column for the rest of my life.
What is a career where i can write profound literary writings and convey my interpretations and oppinions?
What careers would suit me?

These seem to be the two different points of view when it come to career. Half the books tell you to focus on your goal and ignore anything that doesn’t lead you to it. Other tell you to keep your options open because you never know where your best choice will come from.
One keeps you from seeing different opportunities whereas the other keeps you flipping around trying to make you are taking the best road to getting ahead.

I’m an undergraduate on the dean’s list at a relatively prestigious university. In a little more than a year, I’m faced with graduation, and I’m panicked because I need to start planning my next move now, be it a job in the private sector, a PhD program or professional grad school. I have a wide range of options, but I don’t know what I want, only that whatever I do, I want to do it well. So for those of you out there that found a career that you enjoy, that you’re good at, that’s intellectually stimulating, that affords you independence, allows you to advance yourself, or that makes you feel good at the end of the day, tell me, how did you find it, and when did you know that you wanted to do it? How did you find inspiration? How did you find your passion? And how can I find mine? Responses from people who were in my shoes (ambitious, well educated, lots of options and potential) 5-15 years ago are particularly appreciated.

I am only a junior in high school, but was wondering what path I would need to take for a career in psychopharmacology. Would a biochemisty undergraduate major be suitable? Also, should I have a psychology minor, or how do I fit that into it? What schools in the Midwest would you recommend?
